    AccessScience is an online science and technology encyclopedia. Use AccessScience to find definitions terms, encyclopedia, magazine and journal articles, as well as research updates on scientific and technological topics.
  • Bates Library Catalog
    Find books, videos, equipment, CD-ROMs, and e-books available from the Library. When catalog screen opens, select Downtown or South (Mohler students select Downtown). Please note: Individual accounts are available for staff and students to manage account and create lists.
  • CAMIO (Catalog of Art Museum Images Online)
    OCLC's Catalog of Art Museum Images Online — is a growing online collection documenting works of art from around the world, representing the collections of prominent museums. View paintings, sculptures, photographs, jewelry, textiles and more housed at art museums around the world.
  • Career Cruising - Special login: contact Library for login
    Contact the library for login information. Find career information, including multimedia interviews with people in every occupation. Also use assessment tools, a post-secondary schools database, financial aid information, a portfolio tool. and employment resources.
  • CultureGrams
    CultureGrams are short, reliable reports on over 180 cultures from around the world. Use CultureGrams for background information for a speech or English paper.
  • eLibrary
    eLibrary is a database that contains full-text articles from magazines, newspapers and books as well as maps, photos and radio/tv transcripts. Use Electric Library to find an article for a career training or general education assignment.
  • Films on Demand
    From their website: "Films On Demand is a state-of-the-art streaming video platform that makes it easier than ever to incorporate outstanding educational video content into your curriculum by providing easy integration with learning management systems, online lesson plans, distance learning courseware, or electronic card catalog systems."
  • FleetCross -- In SC Library and Labs only
    Available in the SC Library and Labs only. FleetCross contains maintenance and repair information for medium and heavy gasoline and diesel trucks. Use FleetCross to find diagrams, schematics, technical service bulletins and disassembly/assembly instructions.
  • Gale Virtual Reference Library
    "Gale Virtual Reference Library is a database of encyclopedias and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research. These reference materials once were accessible only in the library, but now you can access them online from the library or remotely 24/7."
  • LearningExpress Library 3.0 - Special login: create own username/password
    Create an username and password to use this resource. LearningExpress Library provides tutorials and tests in "Learning Centers" such as Computer Skills, GED Preparation, Occupation Practice Tests and General Education courses. LearningExpress Library allows registered users to access tutorials and tests such as interview skills, using Microsoft Word and take certification tests (select career training programs). Initial registration using a networked Bates computer is required. Contact Library staff for help in registering.
  • NFPA Fire Codes
    This database contains the full text of the current and past fire and electrical codes from the NFPA. Access this database to search and read the Fire Code regulations plus Formal Interpretations and Tentative Interim Amendments.
  • Opposing Viewpoints in Context
    Opposing Viewpoints in Context provides access to a wide range of sources and opinions on today's hottest social issues. OVC features “viewpoint articles”, topic overviews, full-text magazine, academic journal, and newspaper articles, primary source documents, statistics, images and podcasts, and links to Websites. Use OVC for general education assignments or to understand current controversial issues.
  • ProQuest
    ProQuest provides full articles from hundreds of magazines and journals and summaries of articles in hundreds more. ProQuest is especially useful for locating articles from Washington State newspapers and articles from trade magazines. Use ProQuest to find an article for a career training or general education assignment.
  • Science Direct
    Science Direct is a database that contains full text access to articles from scientific, technical and medical journals. Use Science Direct to find research studies, protocols and other articles on scientific topics.
  • ShopKey Pro -- On-campus use only
    On campus use only. Please contact the library for password information.
